Rockland Children Photography / How shadows look like

This was dark and fogy day. Kacper was feeling down and just couple days later turned out to have flu. That day was surpassingly warm for winter.  And to bring his spirit up I took him to local park which in summer is always full of people and now it reminded abandon place. It wasn’t the...

Oh my, i would LOVE to have fog like that here in AZ. I absolutely enjoyed looking through your images, they are beautiful!

Carrie - February 22, 2013 - 10:41 am

These images really capture your day as you described it-the fog and mood of your little one. Love them!

Sara Kelly - February 22, 2013 - 10:57 am

I love what you’ve done with the focus. This is a gorgeous series. Very gloomy and moody.

pamela joye - February 22, 2013 - 11:07 am

probably my favorite time to photograph when light is soft and sublime. when shadows are soothing and soft. when light glistens with a haze. you represented all that and more here. i love your capture of moments. of expression. how you see. how you frame. what you pair together. the order you present. such a lovely series here filled with such tenderness and reverence.

Christina Benge - February 22, 2013 - 11:22 am

LOVE the fog!! Beautiful captures! Black and whites are my absolute favorites!

tina hunter - February 22, 2013 - 2:17 pm

fog is so lovely. and i really love the puddles and the soft focus. you captured his spirit this day. what a great collection.

Toni Burks - February 22, 2013 - 5:29 pm

These are beautiful images of a beautiful little boy. The fog adds such drama!

Marsette - February 22, 2013 - 5:54 pm

I love foggy images! They are so beautiful! Gorgeous! All of them!

Athena - February 22, 2013 - 7:38 pm

Love that first one!

Staci - February 22, 2013 - 9:07 pm

These are wonderful! Your bw processing is just beautiful perfect white tones. Love the little guy on his scooter shots- so sweet and classic. Perfect ending shot too

Karen Porter - February 22, 2013 - 11:17 pm

Such beautifully, soft images. I love them and yearn for the opportunity to shoot in the fog. You captured your day perfectly.

Emily - February 23, 2013 - 12:30 am

Love these misty images and your processing- so soft and mysterious!

Suzanne O'Brien - February 23, 2013 - 9:10 am

You have a true ability to turn the ordinary into extraordinary. This is such a beautiful set of images, I love the different choices you made in capturing the details as well as the big picture. And your processing and presentation are simply icing on the lovely cake!

Heather Robinson - February 23, 2013 - 6:47 pm

Monika, this series is amazing. I love the softness that the fog casts over them making them feel almost surreal. And I also adore your processing. The one where you have captured both your little guy and the tree branches reflected in the puddle is my favorite. The branches on the tree remind me of eyelashes on a closed eyelid which brings me to my second favorite image – the one with your son’s eyelashes and that furry hood.

Lindsey Culver - February 23, 2013 - 9:28 pm

I love the mood of this series, so beautiful!

Marla Cyree - February 25, 2013 - 3:01 am

Monika, I’m always so floored by everything I see you create. Your photos are so amazing and inspiring. There’s this delicate balance of lots of details, great compositions, tangible emotion, and something akin to magic. You have the most incredible ability to turn everyday life into a beautiful, magical dream and I’m such a fan. Looking forward to next month already!

Toni Raper - February 25, 2013 - 4:29 pm

ooooh you are wonderful! LOVE this post Monika. the set of 2 images in frame #7 gosh made my heart flutter!
